LONE STARS:  Rebecca Circle is sponsoring a social evening for you "LONE STARS" on the last Saturday of the month.  This month it will be on Oct. 27. The event has not been determined as of yet. This is a relaxed evening with christian friends.  Who are the LONE STARS?  Single people, widowed, separated, never married, divorced, one or all of the above who would like to share a social evening with other Christian folks.  

ANNUAL CHARGE CONFERENCE: All are welcome to join us for our Annual Charge Conference on Sat., Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m.. The Charge Conference this year will be held in “clusters” and not individually. The location fo rour meeting will be at Hillcrest Bellefonte United Methodist Church. Rev. Joe Archie, District Superintendent will be leading this meeting.

MOVIE NIGHT AT ATONEMENT:  Movie night will be Saturday, Oct 27 from 6:15 - 8:15 p.m. in the Surge room.  The featured movie is “Holy Ghost”.  This face-paced documentary from the director, Darren Wilson, is a movie completely led by the Holy Spirit!   The Spirit takes the director to Monte Carlo, a concert, and the oldest city in the world – revealing our God who is far more alive and active than you ever imagined.  Popcorn and snacks are free!

SOUP SALE: With cold weather to be expected soon, we will be having our fall soup sale on October 28th after each worship service. If you would like to make soup for the sale, please sign up at the Welcome Center desk. Soup will be sold at $7 per quart. Any questions, please contact Whittona Burrell.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM:  Are YOU considering a way to be part of a ministry here at Atonement Church? Prayerfully, won’t you consider being part of our pastoral care team? Following worship on the first Sunday of each month, the elements of Holy Communion will be prepared for servers to take out to the faithful of Atonement who are no longer able to attend services. Contact the Church Office (798.8472) to learn more from the pastors. On Sunday, October 7, meet in the Sanctuary for instructions and send-off.

KNOLLWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER Bible study for children and youth.  Elementary students will participate on Mondays at 3:45 in a Homework club, which is followed by a Bible study at 4:30-5pm.  This begins our fourth year of outreach to this age group.  Please, keep our efforts in your prayers. God is on the move in the hearts of these kids. On Thursday evenings from 6-7pm, teens are welcome to the Community Center for Goodies and God-Time. Middle School and High School share snacks and then participate in a Bible Study on the Essential Fifty (E50) Bible passages of the New Testament. This quarter’s focus will be Jesus’ teachings on the Beatitudes. Thanks to the four men who have volunteered to teach!

KNITTERS WANTED:  Attention knitters, crocheters or anyone that wants to learn, we would really like you to come join our group, Knitters for a Need.  We meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month from 1:30 - 3:00 to knit, crochet and socialize.  We regularly donate items to AI Dupont Children's Hospital, A Door of Hope PRegnancy Center, Operation Christmas Child, Forwood manor and we also make afghans to give to babies being baptized in our church.  If you don't know how to knit or crochet but are interested in learning, we have several women with years of experience that would love to teach you this wonderful hobby.  Bring a skein of yarn in your favorite color and a set of knitting needles (size 8 is best for beginners) or a crochet hook (size 5) and let us introduce you to a fun and rewarding way to minister to others!  We meed in the Library at Atonement Church.

FALL JUBILEE:  We will be welcoming back John Hobbs and Kenny Davis for awesome music and worship Oct. 21 - 9:00 am, 11:00 am and 7:00 pm, Oct 22 - 7:00 pm and Oct. 23. 7:00 pm.  There will be 10:00 am feedback sessions on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:  Its time to start thinking about Operation Christmas Child. again! November will be here before we know it.  This ministry was started by Samaritan's purse in the 90's.  The idea is to fill a shoe box with items age and gender specific for children 2-14.  Items can be toys, clothing, hygiene items, etc. (no liquids, glass or war themed items permitted). Cardboard shoe boxes are provided for free as long as t hey are available.  For those that aren't able to fill a box but want to help with postage, that would be greatly appreciated as postage has gone up to $9/box.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY:  We are looking for a team of volunteers to serve in the nursery and KIDMO on a monthly basis.  Whatever time you can give would be appreciated.  If you are interested, please contact Mary Ryan at 484-433-0720.

EXERCISE & PRAYER ROOM:  Atonement has an exercise room and prayer room available to all, open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 - 4:30.

CARDS FOR MILITARY:  Anyone wish to send cards to Trevor Richards or any servicemen can do so by placing them in the manila envelope at the Welcome Center Desk and Mary Richards will make sure they gate mailed.

CLAYMONT COMMUNITY FOOD CLOSET:  The center is in need of support!  There's a round container located outside of the Welcome Center where you may drop off items.  You may also write a check to the CC Food Center.

ATONEMENT'S FOOD CLOSET:  Atonement's FoodCloset serves many people in our church and community.  On average, we are handing out 20 bags/month.  We want to continue serving the Claymont community and beyond but need your help.  We are currently in need of peanut butter, jelly, cereal, rice, canned vegetables, crackers, applesauce, spaghetti sauce & noodles, and personal hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant.  Donated items can be placed in cart outside of the Nursery. 

SAMARITAN'S PURSE WELL WATER:  The Well Water ministry will now go towards Samaritan's Purse.  We have raised $2,433.77 to date.  To donate, please leave change in the water jug found in the Welcome Center.
